Senior Living apartments get underway

Mayor John B. O’Reilly, Jr. was among those celebrating the start of the Nov. 1 construction of the attractive, affordable Dearborn Town Center Senior Living apartments at Calhoun and Michigan Avenue in Dearborn’s east downtown.
Joining Mayor O’Reilly were City Councilmen Robert Abraham and Mark Shooshanian; community and business leaders; and officials from Redico, a partner and developer; MHT Housing, a partner; and the Michigan State Housing Development Authority.
The Senior Living building will have 77 apartments and will open in fall 2018. It has three stories and will include features like activity and multipurpose rooms, fitness center, a second floor outdoor terrace, a theater, lounge, salon and parlor.
“We’re pleased to mark this groundbreaking so that our senior citizens have even more options for living in Dearborn. This building has a great design, is convenient to shopping, public transportation and other services, and residents can also easily walk in the downtown for restaurants and entertainment,” said Mayor O’Reilly.
